MessagePort API

Send and receive SMS and MMS, verify phone numbers, and manage contacts and opt-outs from your own application.

The MessagePort API lets your application send SMS and MMS, receive replies and delivery receipts, verify phone numbers with one-time codes, and manage contacts, groups and opt-outs. It is a JSON REST API authenticated with an API key.

Base URL

https://app.messageport.com.au/api

Most endpoints live under /v2 (for example https://app.messageport.com.au/api/v2/sms). The verification (OTP) endpoints live under /v3. All requests must use HTTPS.

What you can do

  • Send messages: up to 1000 SMS per request, with scheduling, metadata and MMS. See Sending messages.
  • Receive replies and delivery receipts in real time with webhooks.
  • Verify phone numbers with a one-time code using the Verify API.
  • Respect opt-outs and keep separate opt-out lists per campaign or brand.
